Recycling Fashion Magazines How to

I love fashion magazines and for that reason subscribe to several of them. I enjoy reading their articles and getting ideas on current fashion trends. My problem is what to do with them once I have read them. An idea occurred to me when I was preparing for a craft show. I didn't have a budget to buy bags to give to customers, so I came with the idea of making my own envelopes using fashion magazine pages. I didn't use all of them in the crafts show and I started using them to mail my orders from my Etsy shop.
To make them, take four pages and sew them together, leaving one side open and you have a very unique and beautiful envelope. I also like covering boxes with the pages because they are more beautiful and fun. So far my clients love them and I am very pleased to make them.
Here are some pictures showing the process of making these that you might use for your own business. The packages are beautiful and in addition they help recycle something that otherwise would go straight to the landfill.

These are some of my latest creations. I'm never get bored of making dresses. Wearing dresses make us look more sexy and feminine that is why I always think of new ideas to have an excuse and make a new one. I love summer and wearing dresses all the time.

One Of A Kind Floral Chiffon Party Dress Ribbon Rosettes

This beautiful dress is made of chiffon fabric featuring rosette ribbons all over. It is definitely a fabric that will get noticed. The detail is exquisite and unique so I decided to make a romantic full skirt party dress.

The large train in back adds glamor to this dramatic look, perfect to make the entrance of the night.

This simple dress is adorned with a detachable yoke, which is made with acrylic beads and they are glued to a piece of fabric. To make it easier for cleaning it has snaps on each side to hold the yoke.

Save the Planet! Go Green! Recycling and Reusing!!

I really like the fashion magazines are so beautiful and colorful that I feel sorry for throwing them away. That's why I thought, why not make a belt using the magazines???... and so at least I feel that I am giving another use. I come from a country where we recycle everything. I'm Cuban. Early on we learn to use things until they break.
To make this belt I used pages of a magazine, I folded one by one, then paste and sewed them on white felt. To protect the paper I put a piece of netting on top and over the edge black elastic trim.

I also made some fabric gift bags with some of my pretty holiday fabrics here they are

New And Super Elegant Double Breasted Military Jacket

Today I want to show you my new creation. A military inspired jacket. I was attracted to the idea in the same second I saw the fabric in the store. As always happens to me I had not planned to make this jacket. Anyway, when I saw the fabric and I felt it I knew, I should do it. As usual I wasn't sure of the rigth design but wanted to do it. Should be very elegant, feminine and with lot of details. This time I made two pockets in front, mandarin collar, double breasted, details on the collar, cuffs and waist. I covered the buttons using the same fabric to give them a more elegant touch.

I made a brooch that can be used with or without the jacket, that's for you decide. I think the jacket is just wonderful! What do you think?
